  • N-NNE wind expected Saturday.  As we have plans in the afternoon, assuming we get the expected wind I hope to get out early morning on the big pond.  Might just wingfoil SSYC, but gametime call.  Will take some time for the waves to build as not windy overnight so SSYC easy in & out.

  • If it is as forecast, I'll be at North Beach in Racine doing lessons most of the day.  SSYC might have too many weed to foil in many spots.

  • My SSYC plan would be to park along trail, not at launch with that zoo.  Then just push to get through opening in breakwater and play outside.  Have done this before on N wind and that works pretty well.  If I get lucky on the way in and out and find an opening, can even ride high and foil in both directions.  But tou are right, especially with long mast, the weeds can be pretty bad.  Then again if I get enough E, can go to Grant Park instead.

  • Yep! Already looking windy at SSYC this morning. I am heading down there for the farmers market with the kiddos shortly (Saturday ritual) and will check out the beach. Will be back there to kite  later this AM or early afternoon! Post up if you're going!

  • I did McKinley beach this morning.  Conditions looked great, though wind a little soft inside.  Once outside half mile or more, wind full and nicely overpowered wingfoiling.  However a couple times I made the mistake of riding back inside too far and paid the price - heavy surf and not enough wind to get back on board.  THAT is tiring and frustrating for this old guy...

  • Solid day at SSYC yesterday on a 13m and big board. Not as strong as forecasted but a solid 8/10 day. Big Joe and his boy showed up to kite and wing respectively. Gloomy weather at times but still had an audience at the beer garden to watch some take offs!

  • North Beach was great with warm water and sunshine.  Local paper captured some beach lessons and thought I would share...

  • @Amos Beernink thanks for the picture! My wife was doing a lesson with Stafford and that us walking back upwind after drifting down the beach for a while.

I was able to get out for just a little while after her lesson on 9m with a door board but was havin trouble getting through the shore break. Once out in open water it was more managable. I had to come in pretty early after a couple walks back up the beach as my core was unbearibly sore still from kiting last weekend, or my harness was too tight I'm not sure.
