February Water Days

  • Keeping an eye on Wed through Friday. Looks like the big pond may work well. Not a great winter for ice but looks like it could be an early start to water season.

  • Yesterday, Wind Lake is 90% liquid, and Big Muskego was at 20%.  Overnights below freezing put a thin sheet of ice back, but it breaks up again in the day.  I'd love to get to 70% or more to get on on Big Muskego this week.

  • Bradford might be the spot on Thursday. I'm keeping my eyes peeled!

  • Looks like Bradford is starting to kick in but I bet today's wind didn't get to beach. Sheboygan usually works when wind is too far out at Bradford.

Yes, Friday at Big M would be ideal. Remember when I rolled over the ice to get to the water Stafford?!? Still gotta share that video brother.

  • Bradford or Sheboygan Thursday.  Get your bikinis out of the dryer!

  • Jeff, what time you heading to Bradford?  Will try to be there.

For the record, I can no longer say that I have not gone through the ice yet this year.  Back to normal...  Big pond best place to be tomorrow!

  • I am off all day so I'll be out as soon as I see good wind. Will post up and text. Hope Bradford works.

  • No wind on the beach at all at Bradford. Not entirely surprised, but not sure kiting is going to work.

  • Wind underperforming inland too.

  • Any idea how Big M is looking? Might just wait for tomorrow if Big M is pretty open.

  • Out at Bradford again. Wind's enough on shore that a big kite should work.

  • Sheboygan was pretty decent.  Started on a 14 then went to a 17.  Couple other riders out as well.  Not bad for early February!

  • Bradford was mega powered. Holy Shiitake mushrooms. Started on a 10m and things were pretty tame until the weather front passed. Then it was ON. Stayed on the 10m but could have been on 8m or smaller.

I wish I had my jump calculator on... definitely some of my biggest ever. Super warm and sunny out there. Start of a good season.

  • Started on a 17m fully powered at Bradford and by the end was on a 10m de-powered. Changed over kites real fast when the wind came up!

Jeff, I had 11.2 meters on the Woo, so you must have been up near that mark too!

  • You were definitely going big. I'll assume I was around the 10 m range based on what you're telling me. Definitely the bigger ones that I've ever done. I'm heading over to Big muskego shortly.

  • I'm at Big muskego and I don't think there's any way possible to get out on the water. It's still 90% ice and relatively thick at that with just a few openings here and there. But not enough water to have a decent session in my opinion.
