  • Anyone going to the Swamp today?

  • Jeff was just out there.  picked waaay up 35mhp with gusts over 40.  and a balmy 41 degree air temp

  • Dang! I was really on the fence on whether or not it would shift and pick up in time to go.... I chose wrong!

  • Jake, I think you chose right.  The wind came up so much that it was too much for everyone.  Two kites ended up in the reeds today.

  • Was winging near Sebastian Inlet in Florida the other day with wind gusting to mid 20's.  Nice session, and as it seemed to e picking up went in for the day.  By the time I had equipment down and putting it away I checked the wind on I Kitesurf and gusts were over 40 by then.  Later in the evening, gusts went over 60 with sustained winds over 50 fir more than an hour.  Our RV has an deck with awning and enclsed sunroom that I trust up to 40mph, but when things got wild I was actually in that enclosure for nearly 2 hours holding things down and reacting.  It survived I am pleased to announce, but I still only rate it to 40 mph...  I will try to attach picture.  That night, BTW, was my 68th birthday, and I guess my gift was a couple great sessions but no damage... ;)

  • Second picture is from inside enclosure facing water, and wind straight on from that direction.  No, the other outside tent was down for the night fortunately...

  • Great spot Jeff!  How long were you there?

  • In this site about a month, but Saturday head to OBX with Windybago crew.  This is Long Point, a Brevard County campground.  Most sites are on the water, but nearly impossible to get reservation until after Easter.  We reserve a year in advance, been coming here since we retired about 10 years ago to warm up for OBX.
