Tried the swamp this afternoon.
Beautiful afternoon with good wind- enough for 7m, thick ice, but conditions are a bit mixed right now- some smooth patches, some bumpy patches and some small drifts.
Needs a good dump of snow or a thaw to even it out some more- looks like the thaw is more likely ☹️
I was also at the swamp. Good times. I've exactly as Steve described. Ice skates and wing for 30 min and kite and skis for an hour. Ice is hard to ride because snow adds grip then open ice needs real sharp edges.
skates generally cut right to bottom and more fun. Gotta get about 200 yards away from launch. Just north of the island by Stafford's house was beautiful.
