Was thinking the same- Hoping to get there early afternoon tomorrow, if it plays out
I'll be at Big M around 3:30 today
It is almost straight onshore at Boxhorn right now. Steve E. is out there blasting the length of the lake. Solid whitecaps.
Yeah, was nice to be out in the sunshine and warmer day. Swamp water temp was 48F, so coming up nicely.
Was nicely lit in gusts and 9m seemed about right given the gusts / lulls.
Jumping was a real lottery- might be normal, might be magic elevator, might drop you like a stone- you spin the wheel and see what happens ๐
lots of birds on the water today- rode past a couple dozen swans, blasted through a flock of about a thousand ducks- lots of spray as they scattered, plus a bunch of geese.
In SPI last month I hit a seagull, it was flying close to my lines and turned into them- made quite a thunk.
BBR showed up just as I headed in and rigged a 13m- don't know how he holds that much kite down ๐
I stopped by but just got home from Florida not unpacked and quite tired. Big Joe stopped by and was thinking about what to rig. Here is what the wind was:
Unfortunately I missed out today. Had some pet issues had to deal with. Hopefully tomorrow will be good. I know it will not be quite as warm but it looks like the wind should be pretty consistent. Anyone headed back out tomorrow?
Jacob
@Jeff Vkoeberl Yup that's exactly what it felt like ๐
Fun day at the swamp. Wind was solid on the 8m. Gusty for sure but never got dropped. Had some big jumps and a few lulls. Had an accidental unhook, thanks for helping me recover Stafford.
great day out there and great to see Joe, Ryan and a few others.
need to see those videos@stafford kramer of my darkslide attempts. ๐
Ps@Steve Earnshaw , dark slides on the 15m at SPI were a lot easier than the 8m today at Big M. I hope Stafford can post up so everyone can laugh ๐
Would like to have been out there with yall but, recuperating from a minor broken ankle . I've been snowboarding over 40 years, but managed to hit an aspen tree in Colorado! should be able to ride the Mako with no straps in a couple weeks
