Hi, Ive just moved to Milwaukee from Ireland. Looking to kite on the lake and learn the spots. Let me know next time anyone is going out. Thanks, Conn.

Hey I'm new to kiting in the area but have been surfing the area for the past 10+ years. So I know most of the spots and how to read and predict wave forcasts, but am just learning to read and forcast the wind a little better. Seems like most of the regular guys are getting out a couple times a week when I'm barely seeing 8-10kt in the forcast. I've heard this attirbuted to reading and knowing when to expected themals so I'm all ears if anyone is willing to spill the beans on themals. Just trying to get out as much as possible during these light wind sessions in the summer.
@Conn O'Farrell To better answer your question though, this map has some spots

Thanks Mitchell. I went down to Bradford last week but was very busy with swimmers. Is there other beaches where there's room to launch on?
Conn, welcome to MKE! I'm from London myself (but have been here for years).
Bradford is best on a south wind but can be ridden pretty well on a SE and SSW too.
In summer the south end of Bradford is a zoo and it's impossible to set up there if it's a nice day. However, even on pretty nice days there's a spot just past the northernmost volleyball court that's usually pretty open (especially on weekdays). If you can find parking on the street up there it's not too far to walk (I live close by and have a cargo bike so load it up and can park basically right at the spot where I launch).
Otherwise, if the beach is fully loaded you can launch from a pretty big grassy area at the pebble beach just south of Bradford (it's at the north end of the pebble beach). Street parking again but usually easier to get a spot there as it's about a half-mile south of Bradford. That area is also usually windier for launching than the north end of Bradford due to the proximity of the trees.
Anyway, hope to see you out there soon!
